Service Description

A confection which represents the Singaporean identity both in and out. Shaped in the image of our dearest Merlion, coloured in both red and white, it is filled aptly with a home made kaya filling (less sweet, of course), invoking the inner nostalgia. What's more, to further push the wow factor, these national cuties are doubly filled with a buttercream filling to round up the impeccable pairing of kaya and butter. During this 4-hours class, you will learn: - How to make swiss meringue method of making macarons. - How to make pandan coconut flavoured macaron shells. - Basic techniques of making macaron shells that are full, smooth and have good feet all around. - Techniques of character macaron making such as splitting batter into different colours from a single batch, layering batter and piping shapes. - How to make smooth and less sweet kaya filling. (Recipe Only). - How to make less sweet coconut buttercream filling coloured naturally with blue pea flower. - How to assemble the Merlion on the round macaron base. Student will bring back 5 Merlion macaron stands (each stand includes a merlion and a round macaron at the base). Group Size: 7 participants Minimum age to join class: 16 years old
